50th Anniversary of the Mach 1 - 2019

Back in 1969, Ford Motor Company introduced the stylish Sportsroof design that formed the basis for the Mach 1 package. Amazingly, over time, the Mach 1 became even a higher seller than the GT, lasting through the 2nd generation, which closed in 1978.

The 4th generation Mustang take on the Mach 1 was when I really began to appreciate the early models, which is why I bought one in December, 2002. The view over that shaker scoop never got old.

What fond Mach 1 memories do you hold dear still?

When I purchased this vehicle I had no idea I would find a great group of people from the Mach 1 Registry that I now call my extended family. M1R is an online community/forum that is all about the Mach 1 Mustang, mostly the new edge version 2003/2004. Some 14 years ago I made my first trip to Carlisle, PA Ford Nationals and I haven't missed one since. Growing up in a Chevy family I never saw myself owning a Mustang, The Mach 1 registry and this vehicle brought us all together and even though some may have sold their Mach 1 to purchase their next Mustang we all still get together and have a great time whether its on the website or at a car show. Thank you to Tony Alonso & Scott Hoag for this awesome book and thank you to Dave & Tammy Wagner for the Mach 1 Registry. Many more Mach 1 memories to come!!
